arisi parupu sadham recipe

ARISI PARUPU SADHAM

arisi parupu sadham is a very simple recipe to make and is very healthy and tasty .

It is a bland meal and can be served to children and aged people.

Serving this rice with valaikai poriyal and chips will add to the taste. Ill post the recipes as well.

Ingredients:

Basmati rice - 1 cup
Toor dhal     -1/2 cup
small onions -300 gms
garlic - 6 pellets
red chillies/ red chilli paste - 4
turmeric powder
curry leaves
mustard seeds
urad dhal
seeragam
pepper balls
cilantro leaves
ghee/oil
salt

PREPARATION:

 Mix and soak basmati rice and toor dhal together for about half and hour
    Donot over soak it as this might spoil the recipe.

Heat oil or ghee in a pressure cooker and add mustard seeds, urad dhal, seeragam,pepper balls and curry leaves.
  
You can also add coconut gratings and thats as per  ur convenience.While u add it pls dont forget it cook until it turns brown.

Then add finely chopped small onions and saute well.

Add minced garlic and red chillies

Saute well  and add turmeric powder.

Add two cups of water and add cilantro leaves and salt to taste.

After it comes to a boil, add the rice and dhal after draining out the water used for soaking completely.

Then close it and 2 to 3 whistles should be enough for it to get cooked. Then simmer the heat as much as possible and leave it as it is for 2 minutes.

Turn the heat down and enjoy the recipe:)Serve hot.

VAZHAKAI FRY


INGREDIENS:

vazhakai - 1 
ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
turmeric powder
chilli powder
coriander powder - 2 tsp
garam masala - 1 tsp
curry leaves
salt to taste
oil. ( preferrably gingelly oil )

PREPARATION:

Cut the banana in to two width wise and boil it for about 5 minutes. Do not over boil it.

Remove it and peel off hte skin and cut banana into lengthy pieces like finger chips.

Mix the above said ingredients well. Leave 3 to 4 droplets of water if necessary. It should not be very diluted . While adding curry leaves cut in to small pieces and add them.

Then mix the bananas and set it aside for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and add a portion of these and fry them till it turns golden brown.
  
You can deep fry them r just partially fry them in a pan. Either way, it tastes great.

Serve hot. U can also finally add some pepper powder after frying them:)

This is the best side dish ever for arisi parupu sadham. In my home we use to have this recipe for dinner as it is light and good for health too. When we cook for dinner v just use oil and stil it makes a delicious meal. :)
